first snow

Since we missed the big snow storm in December this was our first snow this winter and really the first time Zoe has ever actually been excited about snow. She couldn't wait to get outside this morning (which is a rare treat for me as getting a jacket and shoes on her these days can be quite a challenge). We played in the snow in Teardrop Park for a little while before walking to school. We even made a mini-snowman.

Purple-delicious!

Zoe is obsessed with the books Pinkalicious and Purplelicious. The other day we made purple cupcakes (purple is Zoe's favorite color). Zoe described them as "Purple-delicious." For those of you who don't know, the book Pinkalicious is about a little girl who eats too many pink cupcakes and turns pink. In a few weeks we are going to see Pinkalicious the Musical. Stay tuned to find out how Zoe likes her first musical (if it's a success there will be no stopping us).

looking for a "cow-cow" with Molly

Did you know that there are "cow-cows" in the bushes in front of our building? Molly and I looked for them the other day.

5 months old

Lilia is 5 months old today. She is sitting on her own for a very short time. She loves to grab at anything she sees especially the sun on her Exersaucer or mom's necklace. She loves watching her big sister do just about anything and loves being part of the action. One of her favorite activities is sitting on mom's lap at Zoe's little table and doing an art project. She also loves when Zoe does ring around a rosie around her. She loves bringing Zoe to school because all of the kids in Zoe's class make a big fuss about her. The best news is that she loves having her own room and has started sleeping really well!

hangin' in my new crib

Speaking of "crib" Dad and Zoe put my crib together this morning and I'm going to sleep in it tonight. We say that Zoe has a "big girl bed" and now I'm moving into my "big baby bed." Zoe is very excited for me.

getting settled in our new place

Both girls seem to like our new place. Zoe was very happy when she came home from Grammy and Grandpa's to find her new room filled with all of her toys. She loves that we can see a giraffe in a window in the building across the street. She thinks a giraffe family that lives there and tells stories about them. She also loves to watch the boats on the river. Lilia loves having her own room and has started sleeping very well.

Zoe spent 2 nights at Grammy and Grandpa's

beer and fries and milk

All 4 of us had our fix at our favorite neighborhood Belgium restaurant.

big girl walking

Despite the bitter cold Zoe insisted on walking 90percent of the way to and from Soho. We couldn't believe she passed up her warm and cozy stroller sleeping bag!

gallery hop

On our walk to Soho today Zoe loved warming up in this gallery and loved the paintings by our favorite artist Ilya Zomb.

happy birthday Nanky!

Last night we celebrated Nanky's birthday. After eating cupcakes we did a special birthday dance. It was so much fun.

The happiest place on earth

We love Disney! One of Zoe's favorite Hannukah presents this year was the DVD of Snow White (which is from 1937 and SO great!). She loves it (almost as much as Mom does). At Disneyland she loved It's a Small World and loved getting a Snow White costume and dressing up. When she saw Snow White in the parade she was sure to show her that she was also dressed as Snow White. We all had a great day.
