Lilia's best friend

Lilia loves her big sister! She loves it when Zoe rides on the stroller board facing her and talks to her. She will pretty much smile and laugh in response to anything that Zoe does.

7 months old!

It's amazing to watch how Lilia is studying everything around her. I'm sure all babies this age do this and I'm sure Zoe did it too but it's nevertheless amazing to watch her these days. She holds a toy and studies it turning it around and passing it back and forth from one hand to the other. She's started making a lot of vowel-consonant sounds like "dadadadada" which is also fun to hear. She loves most of the purees that we give her and she eats a lot. She has started napping! Until recently her naps were usually around 20 or 30 minutes -not much sleep for her and not much of a break for mom! Suddenly she's taking some real naps and seems much better rested in the evenings (though she never really complained before). She's on the go! She's not crawling but she can scoot backwards on her belly or forward on her tush (all the way across the living room to get to what she wants).

After a gorgeous day in the park we went out to our favorite neighborhood Belgian restaurant. Both Zoe and Lilia seem to really enjoy eating out these days. Zoe actually fought with Dad for the last of the mussels. Thankfully Lilia is a really mellow baby and doesn't really get cranky even when it's getting close to bedtime. She really enjoyed the activity on the street and some pureed sweet potatoes. We're looking forward to more beautiful days in the park and eating outdoors.

Cinderella's crown

The other morning when we arrived at Zoe's school Zoe was very upset because she'd brought her Cinderella doll but had forgotten Cinderella's crown. Her teacher Miss Elisa was very sweet and helped her to make a crown for Cinderella. When I picked her up she was so happy and posed for a picture with Cinderella and Cinderella's crown.

When Zoe is not busy dressing up as a princess or a fairy she enjoys dressing up as a cow girl and riding her pony.

Zoe is (for the most part) not allowed to wear her many costumes out of the house. These days there is barely a minute that she is home that she is not dressed as a fairy, a ballerina or a princess. She loves to dress up. She also loves to play birthday party and here she is dressed as a princess, dressing up her sister and having a "birthday party" with her toy cake and tea set.
