summer...where are you?

Hey summer, come out now. Yes, this picture was taken in July. Sigh. Quite different from the East coast heat wave.

11 months

In the past month I have really started to motor around. I am also trying hard to learn to walk on my own (though no independent steps yet). I'm saying lots of words and my favorite word and food is banana "nana." I also love pad thai noodles. I love my picture board books and love watching Zoe do just about anything. When I go to the playground I immediately point to the swings and says "this, this" until they put me in a swing. I call dogs "kitty cat." I have also learned to say "Zoe" and have started to blow kisses goodbye. Yes, this picture was taken on an airplane as was my 10-month picture and I have been on 2 flights in between! I'm quite the jet-setter these days though I'm looking forward to settling down a bit when I move into my new home next weekend.

Zoe loved the Statue of Liberty curtain at the Zimmer Children's Museum (we kind of consider Lady Liberty "ours" because we used to see her on our daily walks to the playground).

We took a trip down to LA to see some friends and family and to get a brake from hotel-living.

There's a cool bouncy place near out hotel (it's probably the only thing near our hotel other than Dad's work). Zoe love it!

de Young and Golden Gate Park

We were able to relax a bit and spend a nice day at the de Young and Golden Gate park. Nanky and Pappa were with us in the morning and then we headed off to the carousel and playground which was a lot of fun.

We have tried to find some afternoon activities to do near our hotel since their is usually not enough time to get into the city between the girls' naps and dinner time. Zoe really enjoyed this local playground.

Fraiche

After camp we had a treat and tried out this great frozen yogurt place owned by friends of ours. It was delicious and we can't wait to go back to Fraiche!

Zoe's first day of camp

After much planning to make sure that Zoe would be going to the same camp on the same day as several of her NYC friends plans changed and she's started at a camp where she doesn't know anyone and in a whole new city. We know our little social butterfly can take on the challenge! She refused to pose with her backpack before camp and after camp so I had to sneak a few mediocre shots of her on her first day.

our last day in NYC

Here is Lilia at a playground near Nanky and Papa's apartment where we stayed our last couple of days in NY.

We had a little get-together with some friends at Water Taxi Beach for our last weekend in NY. Zoe had a great time running around in the sand with her friends.

I can have fun at the playground now too!

Gone are the days when Lilia used to sit in the stroller or carrier while Zoe played at the playground. Now she wants to join in the fun too.

Some pics of our last meal at our favorite NYC sushi restaurant on Jeff's birthday. Both Zoe and Lilia love veggie rolls and shrimp shumai and Zoe has recently started to enjoy some real sushi pieces as well. We all look forward to lots of good sushi in our new hometown.
