Happy Halloween!

Noe Valley Fall Festival

Zoe had lots of fun getting ladybug balloon bracelets with one of her new best friends. The adults were chatting and not paying enough attention while the girls were waiting for their turn to get a balloon. Apparently they had noticed on their own that there was a list of names rather than a line and had advocated for themselves and asked the list lady to make sure that their names were on the list.

Happy Fall!

We are going to try to make it to a real pumpkin farm -for some reason we've been really busy the past few weeks and haven't had a chance but in the meantime this pictures from the Noe Valley Fall fest will have to stand in for our annual "pumpkin" pictures.

hanging with Lowly worm

Halloween event at the Discovery Museum

Believe it or not we chose the first rainy day since we got to CA to go to an outdoor museum. Never mind that, it was lots of fun anyhow and we loved hanging out with old friends. And of course we love any excuse to do some pre-halloween partying.

old friends

We were friends in NY from the time we were babies. Even though we didn't see each other for a whole year it's like no time at all has passed.

Dr. Lilia

Lilia is obsessed with wearing this toy stethoscope. Future Dr. Lilia?

quotable Zoe

"I love when Lilia wears pigtails. She's such an adorable little child."

Sunday AM in the park

Stinson Beach

After lunch we had a lot of fun on Stinson Beach where Zoe and Jeff flew a kite and Lilia even tested her new walking legs on the harder-packed sand.

lunch at the Pelican Inn

We had a great lunch outside on the lawn at the Pelican Inn in Marin.

hangin' with friends at the farmer's market

Part of our Saturday routine is to go to the Noe Valley farmer's market. We often run into friends there and Zoe and Lilia love dancing to the music with their friends while Dad shops for fruits and veggies.

show and tell

When Lilia and I got to school to pick Zoe up today Zoe was playing outside with her new crew. The reason she was outside was that she had somehow succeeded in convincing her teachers that I had said she shouldn't nap today! What kind of teachers does she have that can be so easily outsmarted by a 3-year-old! Zoe's friends were very interested in Lilia and asked a ton of questions such as "is she a toddler," "what can she say" (to which Zoe had Lilia demonstrate her animal sounds). Zoe was very proud and excited to show her sister off.

carousel in GG park

school picnic (or pignig as Zoe likes to say)

Here Zoe is showing off her frog hand paint.

hardly strictly bluegrass

We had a lot of fun sitting in the redwoods listening to David Grisman.

freaky friday

On this particular afternoon Zoe was pretending to be a 1-year-old baby crawling around with a bib on and taking a nap in Lilia's crib. Lilia on the other hand is growing up and while Zoe played baby Lilia was walking and talking more than ever before. Here she is eating Zoe's "1st birthday cake" and walking while Zoe is crawling in the background.

Indian summer

Note the summer clothing. We had a bit of Indian summer this week. Here Lilia is waiting (not so patiently) for Zoe to finish her swimming lesson.

Dosas!

Zoe and Lilia both love dosas. We found a great South Indian restaurant near us and had a great dinner out. That's Zoe through the dosa but it's kind of hard to tell!

Academy of Sciences

We love it! It is like a great new version of the Museum of Natural History plus a great new version of the Coney Island Aquarium plus a great playroom all in one and it's only 5 minutes from our home with easy underground parking. We've been spending a lot of time there!

sorry for the delay!

We have been having some fan requests for new pictures. There haven't been a lot of blogworthy pictures lately but here's a few to tide you all over.
