Lilia is officially 4.5! She is still quite the comedian and often has all of us doubled over in laughter. Like her big sister her favorite thing to play with is little figures of any kind -the two of them can spend an entire day doing this. She also likes to draw and write little notes. She has read the first few sets of a beginning reading series called Bob Books. It was her idea to read them -she wants to do everything that Zoe can do. Her other interests include gymnastics and performing songs from Frozen which is her favorite movie. She recently hosted a playdate where her 3 best friends came over to watch Frozen. Her favorite books are Silverlicious and The Secret Pizza Party -but she does not like pizza! She loves most veggies. She is very excited about Kindergarten and has asked if she can start immediately.

Gymnastics
Zoe and Lilia have been enjoying gymnastics recently. Zoe recently moved to "preteam" and loves the more rigorous program. Lilia has been enjoying her preschool level class.
Gung How Fat Choy!
We had fun watching the Chinese New Year parade with friends followed by dinner in a restaurant with dragon dancers!
Disneyland
We spent a fabulous 3 days in Disneyland for mid-winter break. The kids and grownups all had a blast.

Friendship
In honor of a yearly event at Zoe's school called the Friendship Dance Zoe drew a picture of some of her friends. It's no surprise that one of her accolades at the end of Kindergarten assembly last year was "everyone's friend."
Aquarium of the Bay
We visited the Aquarium of the Bay for the very first time. It was a nice rainy morning with some friends (not pictured).
Stroller gymnastics
Watch Lev in the Rio Olympics competing in his new sport that he invented himself. It's stroller gymnastics!
Circus Bella!
We had a nice day with friends seeing Circus Bella for a second time followed by a party for Lilia's school.
Frozen playdate
We were lucky to get a copy of Frozen on DVD and it's been nonstop Frozen playdates around here ever since. In this picture Lilia and her good friends are excitedly watching the opening credits.
MLK according to Lil
Lilia's project on MLK displayed on the wall in her classroom. Her picture kind of looks like him, no?
Soccer kids
In addition to his Soccer Tots class on Mondays mornings Lev has been spending rainy Thursday mornings with Claudia and Ines at a drop-in soccer class at the rec center. The class is for 3 and 4 year olds but according to Claudia this pair of 2 year old soccer stars keep up just fine.
Kindergarten bound!
Lilia recently went to Zoe's school for her playdate interview. Of course it was mostly a formality but we were nevertheless happy that they accepted her into their incoming Kindergarten class. At the interview she spoke with the Assistant Head of School for a bit and built a wind compass with the Head of School. In the first picture she is waiting excitedly for her interview and in the second she is showing her wind compass at our favorite frozen yogurt place where we celebrated afterwards.
Butterflies
We spent a recent day off from school with some friends at the Academy of Sciences. The butterflies were very interested in Zoe on that particular day!
